This policy describes the personal data processed when you visit this site. The site publishes a guide and counts its readers. It does little else, so the policy is brief.

Controller

The controller is the publisher of this site, Dare Editorial, a company registered in the Estonian commercial register under code 17444706, with its registered office at Pärnu mnt 139b, 11317 Tallinn, Estonia. Data questions go to editor@darepouchs.com.

Data we process

• Visit data. Which pages were viewed, the approximate region, the type of device and browser, and how you arrived, including any advertising click identifier carried in the address you came in on. Google Tag Manager and the Google services set up in it collect this.
• Connection data. Your IP address is handled by our hosting provider and by those services so that the page can be delivered and protected against misuse.
• Your answer to the cookie notice. Saved in your own browser, on your own device, so that the notice is not shown again.

Purposes and legal bases

• Running the site. Our legitimate interest in a website that works and is protected (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Measuring readership and advertising. Your consent where your national law requires it (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), and otherwise our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is found and read.

Cookies

Google Tag Manager, and the Google measurement and advertising services loaded through it, may place cookies or read identifiers in your browser. Your browser settings let you delete or block them whenever you wish. The site keeps working if you do.

When you leave this site

Confirming your age at the top of the home page takes you to a separate website. The campaign and click identifiers in the address you arrived with travel with you, so that the visit is attributed to the right source. From the moment you arrive there, that website's own privacy policy applies.

Recipients

• Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, for tag management, measurement and advertising. Data may be transferred to the United States under the safeguards Google publishes for such transfers.
• Our hosting provider, located in the European Union.

Personal data is not sold, and is not passed to anyone for purposes of their own.

Retention

Visit data is kept for the period configured in the Google services concerned, at most 14 months for user-level data. Your cookie notice answer remains in your browser until you clear it.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you may ask for access to your personal data, for its correction or erasure, for its processing to be restricted, and you may object to processing or withdraw a consent already given. Readers outside the European Union have comparable rights under their own laws, and requests are handled in the same way wherever they come from. Write to editor@darepouchs.com.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Estonia that is the Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon). You may equally turn to the authority in the country where you live.

Readers under 18

This site is written for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at anyone younger.

Updates

When this policy changes, the new text is published here with a new review date.
